索尼公司于1993年开始了它在中国的投资活动。1996年10月,索尼(中国)有限公司成立,旨在统一管理和协调索尼在中国大陆的业务活动。作为在中国的地区总部,她在中国国内从事电子信息行业的投资,产品市场推广,顾客售后服务联络,并针对索尼在中国的各所属企业进行宏观管理及广泛的业务支持,推动索尼在中国市场业务的不断发展。
目前,索尼公司在中国共投资设立了六家大型生产企业,生产的产品包括:贵翔平面特丽珑彩电、背投影彩电、笔记本电脑、音响、家用摄录放一体机、数码照相机、DVD播放机、数据投影机、DVCAM摄像机、电脑显示器以及光学拾音头、关键部件等产品。随着中国经济的发展、市场的不断完善,索尼(中国)将继续向国内引进世界领先的技术和产品,为中国消费者提供更丰富的选择。

Since Sony was founded in 1946, Sony has been regarding “to create an ideal factory that stresses a spirit of freedom and open-mindedness” as her motto. She has been developing many kinds of creative and superior electronic products to actively promote customers’ lifestyle and entertainment.

In Oct. 1996, Sony (China) was set up to manage and co-ordinate Sony's business operations in China. As a regional headquarter, it operates on the investments in China's electronic information industry, products marketing, after services, and the overall management and business supporting for all Sony companies in China to develop Sony’s business.
So far, Sony has invested six huge manufacture enterprises in China. The products made in China includes: WEGA plane Trinitron television, projection television, portable PCs, stereo sound sets, video camera (DV/D8/Hi8), digital cameras, DVD players, projectors, DVCAM camcorders, computer monitors and optical pickup , key components etc. Along with China’s developing economy and marketing, Sony (China) has been introducing world advanced technologies and products into China, and providing more choices to Chinese consumers.
